Classics
Libraries: The Institute of Classical Studies.
Now based at Senate House in the University of London the Institute libraries is a
fantastic source for classicists especially those based in or around London. Membership
costs £15 at present for undergraduates and £25-27 for others. It is well worth looking
at their site, especially if you are doing research as there may well be a reduction in the
costs in certain cases.
Some Recommendations:

Greek Teachers
(if you want your name added to this list, email
Stelios Jackson.)
Private tuition does not come cheap. Very few things of any lasting value do. There are a few things that can be
learned before you feel that you might like to start to pay for this specialist tuition. Firstly, join a
class if you are able. The City Lit in Stuckely Street, WC2, comes highly recommended, as
do others. While there is no substitute for one-to-one tuition, it would be an idea if you
knew such things as the Greek alphabet. Why pay for private tuition when you can learn it
for yourself in a weekend. Get prepared and be prepared, that way private tuition will be
of the highest benefit to you...and believe me, it will benefit you...greatly.
There will be a list of Modern Greek teachers here within the next few months; if you are a teacher, able to give
private tuition send me your e-mail, stating where you are and I shall link you to this page. This will be a page
in its own right by mid-2004, hopefully detailing a hundred or so teachers in various parts of the UK.
